Veterinarian (Practice Owner)

Dr. Linda Colburn, DVM

Dr. Colburn is a California native who spent over two decades living and working across the country before returning to her roots. She earned her biology degree from Hastings College in Nebraska, attended veterinary school on the island of Grenada at St. George’s University, and completed her clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude in 2007. After a year-long internship in Long Island and several years in general practice and emergency medicine on the East Coast, she returned to Grenada as a visiting professor before ultimately settling back in California to be closer to family.

Dr. Colburn is an advocate for her patients and strives to work within each client’s means to achieve the best possible healthcare outcomes. With a talented team and a well-equipped facility, she’s proud to provide excellent care to the four-legged friends of the high desert. She’s currently working to grow the practice by adding another veterinarian and more staff to help reduce wait times for appointments. She also hopes to develop a physical rehabilitation center to better serve the needs of pets in the local community.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Colburn enjoys word games, climbing, and exploring the outdoors. Her beloved Schnoodle, Romeo, was her constant companion until his recent passing, and he remains deeply missed.

Practice manager

Stephen

Stephen has lived in the Morongo Basin for most of his life and loves being part of our local community. He joined Companion Animal Clinic in 2024, bringing over 15 years of corporate management experience and 7 years as a practice manager in human healthcare. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and uses his skills to keep the clinic running smoothly, allowing Dr. Colburn and her team to focus on giving pets the best possible care. Outside of work, Stephen enjoys walking the trails of the Morongo Preserve, bowling with friends, and spending quality time with his three dogs — an American Pit Bull, a Poodle, and a Chihuahua. He especially enjoys finding ways to make the team’s day-to-day work easier and more efficient, so everyone can spend more time doing what they love: helping pets and their families thrive.

Clinic Supervisor

Alliy

Alliy first came to Companion Animal Clinic in 2020 as a client and quickly knew it was where she wanted to be. Growing up in the high desert, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian—though she quickly learned that her passion lies elsewhere! Inspired by her experience, she joined the team with hopes of becoming a veterinary assistant. Just seven months later, she became our Reception Supervisor—and in 2025 was promoted to Clinic Supervisor, reflecting the dedication and leadership she brings to every aspect of CAC. She continues to go above and beyond her role, always stepping in wherever she’s needed.

Alliy loves helping people care for their pets and enjoys meeting the wide variety of dogs and cats who come through the clinic. She never misses a chance to sneak in a cuddle sesh with our patients. Outside of work, she spends her spare time indulging in her love of Disney. At home, she shares her life with her husband Cody, her golden retrievers Flynn and Teddy, her beloved cat Apollo, and her other cherished “cow cat” Titan, whose memory continues to live on in her heart.

Kait

Marsha

Marsha

Kait began her animal care journey as a groomer, developing a passion for client education and gentle handling before joining a feline-only clinic that deepened her love for cat-friendly, fear-free care. Since relocating in July 2024 after a year with us at Companion, Kait has continued working with the team remotely by assisting with client communications and digital patient care. In her free time, Kait enjoys exploring small, family-owned coffee shops, browsing used bookstores, and visiting lighthouses to watch the sunrise with her mom—grateful to spend time close to family while living in Michigan. She shares her home with a rotating cast of critters while helping a licensed wildlife rehabber, though her “heart animal” remains Ashton, her beloved senior cat—who occasionally makes guest appearances during phone calls!

Driven by a deep passion for community service, she began her career at a Local City Veterinary Office, where she worked closely with farmers and traveled to remote communities to raise awareness and provide essential veterinary care.

In May 2024, she joined Companion Animal Clinic as a Virtual Assistant (scribe). What she loves most about being part of CAC is the opportunity to witness how Dr. Colburn practices veterinary medicine—not only with dedication and compassion for animal health but also with genuine care for each client’s unique circumstances and resources.
