Medication Management
At our clinic, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety, efficacy, and comfort of your pets throughout every stage of their treatment plans. Whether your pet requires short-term recovery support or ongoing management for a chronic condition, our comprehensive veterinary medication monitoring protocols are designed to safeguard the health of your beloved dogs and cats.
Proactive Medication Monitoring & Safety Protocols
- Long-Term Medication Safety: For cats and dogs requiring extended drug therapies, we implement strict monitoring protocols to evaluate efficacy, watch for potential side effects, and prevent adverse drug interactions.
- Routine Monitoring Blood Work: Patient safety is our highest priority. We perform regular, proactive laboratory monitoring to ensure that long-term prescriptions continue to safely support your dog’s or cat’s vital organ function.
- Client Education & Guidance: Our experienced veterinary staff keeps you thoroughly informed at every step, ensuring you feel confident, comfortable, and fully equipped to administer your pet’s prescriptions at home.

Your Right to a Written Prescription
In accordance with California law (Business & Professions Code §4170(d)), Companion Animal Clinic offers a written prescription for any medication that can legally be filled by a pharmacy.
You may choose to:
- Have your pet’s prescription filled directly through our clinic, OR
- Request a written prescription to be filled at the pharmacy of your choice.
If you would like a written prescription instead of in-clinic dispensing, simply let our team know — we’re happy to provide one at no additional cost.
