Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Preventive Health

Each pet is as individual as each owner. Therefore, their individual needs may vary. Our doctors will recommend methods of maintaining a healthy pet through preventive therapies. We believe in being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to your pet’s health.

Pet Wellness Exams

A comprehensive yearly exam can help to monitor the health of your pet, particularly as he/she ages. These exams also play a large part in early detection of conditions where early treatment provides the best options for your pet. We think of this annual exam as a preventive "physical" for your pet. Vaccines, fecal testing, heartworm/tick disease testing, and feline leukemia/FIV testing are usually done at this time. We also recommend a strategic deworming with this visit. The teeth and gums of each pet are also checked with recommendations for scheduling dental cleanings if needed. Skin, ears, eyes, and orthopedic issues are addressed as well. These annual exams ensure the best opportunity for a long and healthy life.

Digital x-rays are used to diagnose diseases, breaks, fractures, and obstructions. All of our veterinarians and technicians are trained in radiology to ensure x-rays are available at any time of day.

Annual vaccinations are given by our veterinarians. There is no exam fee when a pet comes in just for vaccinations. Our doctors will discuss recommended vaccines with each client. For new pets/clients, we recommend bringing your pet’s most current vaccine information to the appointment. Vaccine reminders are mailed 1 month prior to due date to allow the owners time to fit an appointment into their busy schedules.

We provide a variety of routine dental services for your pet, including cleaning, polishing, and oravet treatments. We also can help with those non-routine services involving extractions, etc. The dental health of each pet will be graded by our doctors at each exam to determine his/her dental cleaning needs. Our team tries to educate every pet owner in proper preventive dental care as well. Our team can also discuss the many dental hygiene products that are available and find the best option for you and your pet.

At Companion Animal Clinic, we provide thorough skin and coat evaluations with accompanying diagnostics such as skin scraping, cytology, and allergy testing. This allows us to treat varying conditions, such as environmental and flea allergies, skin infections, or mites. Treatment might include special diets, shampoos or similar products, and medical management with pharmaceuticals.

Drug Monitoring

Your pet may need medications as part of his/her continued care. We have protocols in place to monitor the extended use of certain medications, efficacy, possible side effects, and possible drug interactions. Our staff will monitor these medications so that you can be informed and comfortable with the drugs prescribed for your pet. They will keep you informed of drug monitoring blood work for the safety of your pet using medications long-term.

Parasite Control

Companion Animal Clinic recommends that your pet receives dewormings for intestinal parasites at regular intervals throughout the first year, then regular strategic dewormings as an adult pet. Dewormers will be recommended based on those results. You can be assured of the efficacy and safety of these medications when prescribed by your doctor specifically for your pet.

Monthly heartworm prevention is also recommended year-round for pets traveling out of the area. Most of these preventions also have intestinal parasite protection. Our technicians and doctors can help in choosing the best options for your family and pet.

Some of the most common parasites are:

  • Roundworms
  • Hookworms
  • Whipworms
  • Tapeworms
  • Heartworms
  • Fleas and Ticks
  • Coccidia

A lost pet is an owners worst fear. Microchips, inserted through an injection, offer permanent identification, helping thousands of owners reconnect with their lost pets. At Companion Animal Clinic, we offer the most widely used microchip to increase the chances of a safe return.

We are proud to offer an array of surgical services. We first provide your pet with a thorough pre-anesthetic evaluation including an exam and blood work. The blood work is required for pets 8 years and older, but highly recommended for all surgical patients.

  • Spay/Neuter
